Ever since I began on my fitness journey 3 years ago an old-fashioned rolled oats snack in the mornings has been one of my mandatory meals. I love oatmeal and I can’t ever get enough of it. Some days I will add protein to this snack if I’ve had a killer workout session and even more if I want to build muscle mass. After a great workout your body needs extra protein to recuperate and replenish.

Recently I came across the Quest Cinnamon Crunch Protein Powder and it’s so good. I add it to my oatmeal that I let sit overnight and it’s the perfect combination.

Did you know that adult women should be consuming 46 grams/day and men 56 grams/day of protein? Sometimes it’s difficult to meet this suggested amount especially when we are on a rush, but now that I discovered the Quest Cinnamon Crunch Protein Powder life just got 10 times better because it’s all a matter of adding it to my oatmeal in the mornings.

The other day I was at my local GNC, which is where you can also purchase the Quest Cinnamon Crunch Protein Powder, and I came across them and I had to give them a try. I am so glad I did. I was surprised to see other flavors too such as chocolate, peanut butter and a banana, but this one in particular sparked my eye because the name simply reminded me of my younger years when I would drink the milk from my cereal bowl after eating a cinnamon flavored cereal. Let me add that cinnamon helps stabilize blood sugar levels so you stay fuller longer.

You can purchase your sachets of Quest Cinnamon Crunch Protein Powder at your local GNC or at a Vitamin Shoppe. When you walk into these stores you will easily find the Quest Cinnamon Crunch Protein Powder on the protein side/shelves. If not they will have them by the counter area since it is a product that was recently launched. And if you are not able to walk into one of these stores you can order it online HERE or any other supplemental store.

Each scoop of Quest Cinnamon Crunch Protein Powder contains 20 grams of protein (no concentrates). It is also gluten and soy free and has less than 1 gram of sugar in it! The protein to calorie ratio is 80% and if you are “carb conscious” it is perfect as there is only 1 gram of Net Carbs per serving. It’s also a great source of fiber.

So how do I use it? I love buying the individual packs at GNC so I can drink a protein shake on the go! I mix it with almond mix and it is delicious. It reminds me of when I was a kid and I would drink the milk from my cereal bowl after eating a cinnamon flavored cereal. I also blend it up in smoothies!

I thought about different ways that I could consume this protein other than the usual protein shake that we often all end up doing and my old-fashioned rolled oats snack immediately came to mind.

So I decided to combine the Quest Cinnamon Crunch Protein Powder with my old-fashioned rolled oats and I also wanted to share the recipe with all of you. Check out the recipe because it is quick and easy to make while also filling. This is my favorite go-to snack in the mornings:

SERVES: 4

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 cup old-fashioned rolled oats
  • 4 cups water
  • 20 grams of Quest Cinnamon Crunch Protein Powder
  • pinch of sea salt
  • toppings of choice – banana, berries, hemp seeds, chia seeds, maple syrup, etc

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Place oats and water into a saucepan and bring to a boil, watching carefully so the water doesn’t boil over. Stir in cinnamon and salt. Turn down heat quickly and allow the oats to simmer for 1 minute. Remove from heat.
  2. Portion the oatmeal into bowls or mason jars.
  3. Dress with toppings of choice. I love banana slices, berries and seeds.
  4. Add Quest Cinnamon Crunch Protein Powder.

Enjoy!
