FEATURING A REVOLUTIONARY MID-HEIGHT COLLAR DESIGN AND A NEW TOOLING SYSTEM, THE LUNAREPIC FLYKNIT OFFERS A VIRTUALLY VANISHING FIT, FLUID FEEL AND SUPERIOR SOFTNESS.

lunar epic 1

The conception of the LunarEpic Flyknit began over 18 months ago with the contemplation of a global football boot. Taking insight from Nike’s Magista — which allows the foot, ankle and lower leg to work together as a single unit to emphasize natural movement and a feeling of fluidity — the company’s running designers set out to create a shoe that imparted this same sensation, while still serving runner’s key needs: fit, feel and force.

lunar epic 3
They began by constructing a lightweight, breathable one-piece Nike Flyknit upper, engineering different densities directly into the knit for precise support: a snug fit at the arch, heel and forefoot. Meanwhile, the aforementioned mid-height collar was added to facilitate lockdown, both physically and sensorially, and Nike Flywire cables were knitted in for additional strength and a close, dynamic fit.
lunar epic 2
Moving to the midsole, the designers employed a new dual-injection technology. Using heat, instead of glue, they fused two foams into one piece that still features traditional Lunarlon construction, with an IU foam carrier and soft IP core. Laser siping on the side of the midsole facilitates cushioning and targeted flexibility.

Next, a rubber-free outsole with laser-siped geometric pistons inspired by pressure maps of the foot was added. Constructed of Lunarlon foam, each piston moves individually, enabling pointed compression that results in an exceptional ride. Maximizing both cushioning and traction, it provides unrivaled heel-to-toe transitions and propelling energy return.

When combined, these few potent components form an unprecedented shoe with a virtually vanishing fit that adapts to the body in motion for a fluid feel and superior softness. Incredibly versatile, it is ideal for runners tackling a distance workout, progression run or recovery run.

The LunarEpic Flyknit is available starting March 3 at Nike.com and retail locations. An exclusive colorway of the LunarEpic Flyknit will be available at NikeLab retail locations.

I had the honor of participating in the Hyundai Elantra 2017 launch event at Imperial Beach, California in January and what an amazing experience. It was my first of I am sure many auto launch events that I’ll participate in (fingers crossed). All opinions below are my own and are based off of my personal experience throughout the weekend.

On Friday evening immediately after LA traffic faded my fiancé and I drove to Imperial Beach and checked-in to the beautiful Pier South Resort that is less than 5 miles from the Mexico-U.S. border. The moment I walked into the resort I felt tranquility and peace since you can hear the waves because the backyard to the hotel has the most astonishing view to the ocean.

IMG_0320

We checked into our room and the Hyundai team had left us some cool tech. gadgets such as a selfie stick and a phone camera lens, which helps capture more in a frame. I loved it! Also the door to the rooms had the #NewElantra etched on the glass and even on the elevators. In the lobby of the hotel the Hyundai team had a well thought-out welcome reception with food trucks (very San Diego style), drinks, music and all invited fellow bloggers to interact and share the night with.

I was starving when we arrived after a stressful drive and I opted for having the oven baked pizza and the below plate with delicious food from a local catering company called MIHO. The photo says it all:

That evening we are able to connect with Brandon Ramirez from the Hyundai team and learn more about the great experience they had planned for us over the next couple of days! He was great to talk to and actually didn’t give us many details, but told us we were in for an unforgettable and great treat.

IMG_0310

The Hyundai team had planned for us a s’mores and campfire setting in the back patio of the resort. We were given some blankets that we got to keep as a keepsake.

At the end of the night we made it back to our room and called it a night because we knew we had a long/fun day waiting for us to enjoy the #NewElentra on Saturday so we wanted to be well rested.

IMG_0303

The next morning we received a comprehensive general overview from Jim Trainor from Hyundai (picture above) of the market and how the Elantra is positioned compared with other brands. It was very educational so that we knew what we would be driving that afternoon.

IMG_0326

After the presentations we were divided into four groups so that we would get the hands-on experience of learning different features of the #NewElantra. Some of the highlights included learning about Apple Play (mirrors some of your cellphone apps. on the auto screen – AMAZING), Clarifi technology system, the seats with organic foam and special structure to optimize the noise reduction, which was a big highlight because I got to experience that during our test drive and its new design features:

  • The new front design has bolder lines and headlights
  • The 16” alloy wheels
  • Door handle is lit
  • The key advantage detects the keys for opening trunk
  • Spacious interior, which is the same as the interior of the Cadillac CTS
  • 33 miles / gallon
  • Motor has good torque

After all the mini demonstrations we were set free to test drive with our partners and my fiancé and I went together in an elegant white Limited Elantra that we chose for the earlier part of our day. Everything went smoothly until we went into a 5 minute panic attack after we missed the exit we should have taken and before we knew it we were feet away from the last U.S. road (we didn’t have our passports). Within minutes we could have been in Tijuana, Mexico. WOW, that was a scare. We turned into that last exit and managed to get back on the designated route that would take us to our first pit stop. Phew!

IMG_0356

During that drive we saw that the cabin is more spacious than the previous year’s, and that new safety technologies include autonomous emergency braking, high-beam assist, blind-spot detection and rear cross-traffic alert.

In addition, improvements also included a new Integrated Memory Seat that remembers a driver’s preferred seating position. The leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob add a luxurious feel typically reserved for top of the line vehicles.

After our first pit stop with snacks and drinks we traveled to Mount Woodson Country Club where lunch waited for us at this beautiful venue. My fiancé and I are starting to look-up wedding venues and this place has made it onto our list of possible places to host our wedding.

IMG_0357

We were able to talk to fellow bloggers and influencers over lunch and as soon as were done we went off to the second part of our drive where we had the opportunity to drive to an iconic place of San Diego. This time we drove in a bright red Elantra.

My fiancé had never been to La Jolla Cove so I decided to take her there so that she would be introduced to this beautiful place. We walked around for a bit and snapped some pics. She loved it and wants to go back! Before we knew it we were driving back to the resort because we had to be back in time for a dinner reception at 6 p.m.

IMG_0335

The #NewElantra ride was smooth, the Apple Play made it possible for us to get to our destinations after we figured out how to use it and even send text messages from there. We enjoyed test driving this sedan and loved that we could compare its different features to that of the Hyundai Sonata since we were granted one of those models to arrive in style to the event from our friends at DriveShop. It’s hard to say which car was my favorite because they are both unique in their own way, but I may need to opt for the #NewElantra because of its newer capabilities and upgrades.

This event was truly remarkable and I want to thank everyone involved in making this an unforgettable experience for all of us bloggers and influencers. I can tell that the Hyundai team went above and beyond in their planning and execution.

Price starts at $17,150 for the #NewElantra 2017 and you can find more information on how to get yours here: http://www.hyundai/elantra

Do you see yourself driving an Elantra 2017? Is it in your plans to buy one of these for the next year?  I want to hear from you and please let me know if I can be helpful to you based on my driving experience. Would love to answer your questions.

After working in an office environment for many years it is bound to happen that you’ll be seeing a colleague or business partner with your same dress shirt at some point in your career, but when you come across S!R by Eddie Edwards it is least likely that you’ll encounter that problem because these shirts are for men who take their style seriously. Their customer is a man that has a playful sense of what’s wearable and possesses confidence in his own choices.

Nowadays the “office casual” look is getting refined and updated by millennials, and we guys are stepping up our personal style. And as these trends have been renovating, dress shirts have become the foundation for a great sense of style.

IMG_1312

I recently started wearing S!R shirts and I honestly love how they fit because their design is very unique and one of its own. I enjoyed seeing the creativity in the cuffs and collar. This is something that has become more common and hip in our millennial generation. In addition, the variety of colors to choose from is amazing.

As you all know nowadays no guy wants to look identical to his coworkers or friends because that was very 1950’s. It’s a great thing that there are more shirt styles and details for guys to take advantage of and look original. More and more we’re seeing some unexpected fun being added to shirts and that’s exactly what S!R by Eddie Edwards encompasses.

IMG_1347

“Own a wardrobe that is as original as you,” says Eddie Edwards, the Founder, Designer and Owner.

Edwards crafted the collection after his summer road trip through the French, Italian and Austrian Alps; subtle greys and blues in the sky, crispness of brown rocks, and sparkling glaciers combined to set off rare tones of bright colors in the fields full of wild flowers. He was inspired.

S!R by Eddie Edwards was recently featured on the cover of New York Fashion Magazine highlighting the ANOLIE collection.

IMG_1446

For my #OOTD I opted for this light purple dress shirt and combined it with some navy blue slim pants and skin color shoes that I decided to wear to work. I was given compliments by the attention to detail of the shirts and how fitted it was. I’ve been constant with my workouts so it was nice to see some definition through the shirt on my chest and upper back. Lol

S!R shirts does not follow the latest trends and are made for the fashion-forward males that can make a bold statement with remarkably unique and iconic styles.

Exercising every day has many advantages, the main ones are living a healthy lifestyle as well as having a healthy body weight. In reality though there are so many more reasons why you should exercise daily, and many of them relate to making you a better person inside and out by gaining confidence and inner strength. Below I have compiled my top 5 reasons why exercise builds confidence and inner-strength in teens.

teens working out

1. Learn how to set and follow SMART goals: Everyone knows how to set a goal, however setting one and following it are two separate things. A goal without a road map is essentially just a dream, it will be very hard to attain. Using the SMART goal philosophy will help you realize your goals much easier and much quicker. SMART stands for Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Result specific, Time bound.

2. Learning to fail: You will fail in life, it’s a fact, and you might fail at the goal you set. The most important part is learning from these failures and turning them into successes. By doing this you will gain confidence and inner-strength, even through failure.

3. Building good work ethic: If you have no other commitments, exercising daily would be a cinch. Unfortunately not all of us are so fortunate, we have work or school, homework, families, friend etc. Making exercise a priority in your life will help you determine what is most important and how you should spend your time, making you smarter and stronger.

4. Waiting to see results: This one follows #3, not many people have all day to exercise, and no one can exercise once and see the results. In order to achieve your SMART goals you will have to continue to work day after day for weeks or months. This type of dedication helps strengthen you, builds your confidence and makes you patient.

5. Improve your physical control: Some of the best athletes in the world got to where they are not because they only did that sport, but because they did many sports. This helped them gain better body control and the confidence to succeed. By exercising you are teaching your body how to move, which in turn will help you be more coordinated, confident and strong, both inside and out.

Mike Dellemann has spent the last 10 years as both an athlete and a coach and has seen firsthand what happened to those who make SMART goals, stuck to them and worked hard. Although there can be days that are difficult, the end results always outweigh those small hiccups.
Coach Mike is a former Team USA Skeleton athlete who has competed internationally in 4 different countries and won many medals. He is an avid hiker and backpacker, fisherman, hunter and water skier. An ex collegiate All-American Decathlete in college he now enjoys coaching high school track and field and teaching grades K-12. Mike has a BA in Business Administration with a minor in Adventure Education and is pursuing his MBA.

You can’t have cookies without milk, right? Cookies LOVE milk. And yet, for almost 100 YEARS, the Girl Scouts have been selling their delicious cookies, and milk has been nowhere in sight.

In honor of the upcoming National Girl Scouts Weekend (February 26-28), got milk? helped the Boy Scouts surprise the Girl Scouts with the missing milk! The scouts were excited to work as a team and make sure that folks who stopped by would finally have the opportunity to enjoy milk and cookies together. The scouts earned official “got milk?” patches, raised cash for their troop and enjoyed milk and cookies together. And all was right with the world.

El trotar ayuda a perder pezo y reduce los niveles de grasa corporal. Has de 30-45 caminando, trotando o corriendo al día por lo menos (4 días de la semana) y veras qué tan saludable te hara sentir.

Every time I visit Corner Bakery Café I always get the feeling of wanting to go back immediately the next day because their meals are delicious and the perfect size. And when you feel they might be a little too big for your appetite you can save them for the next meal of the day or share them with someone.

You really cannot go wrong with what you order at Corner Bakery Café because all their food is fresh and made-to-order.

From the moment I walked into Corner Bakery I felt as if I could stay there all day tasting their different food items on the menu, but seeing how I was in the middle of moving from one house to another it was impossible to do. Plus, I don’t think that would align too well with the healthy lifestyle I promote.

IMG_0923

Nonetheless their fast service and amazing food made the lunch break my fiancé and I took very well worth it.

There are some new items on the menu that Corner Bakery has launched for 2016 and I recommend you order at least one to taste all the goodness in these meals made to perfection:

Anaheim Scrambler – For breakfast, this dish is made with freshly scrambled eggs with Applewood smoked bacon, tomatoes, green onions and cheddar cheese, topped with avocado.

Chopped Salad – This salad features all-natural chicken, Applewood smoked bacon, avocado, bleu cheese, tomatoes and green onions tossed with iceberg and romaine lettuce and our sweet and spicy house vinaigrette.

Pesto Cavatappi – All-natural grilled chicken and cavatappi pasta tossed in our rich pesto cream sauce and sprinkled with toasted bread crumbs.

Since my fiancé and I had been running around all day with moving boxes, driving a U-haul and carrying furniture we wanted something refreshing so during our visit we opted for the Chopped Salad. The salad came in a big portion that we both ate and then we even had leftovers for dinner that evening.

We also ordered the Chicken Pesto on Ciabatta Ficelle which comes with all-natural chicken, arugula and tomatoes with their sweet and spicy house vinaigrette and pesto mayo. In addition we ordered the Tortilla Soup, which came in the right portion control amount. YES!

I am Latino and growing up my mom would make us tortilla soup and this one in particular at Corner Bakery reminded me of those days when I was young and ate homemade soup.

I love pesto and tomatoes so the sandwich made me feel in heaven while taking every bite out of it.

To top it off and since we both have a sweet tooth we went with the Lemon Bar, which is delicious and perfect for the sunny weather we’ve been having in California lately.

IMG_0911

We received our food within minutes and the people there were so attentive to make our visit the best one, just like they were with everyone else walking in the door.

What has been your experience at Corner Bakery? Do you usually eat there or take-out? Have you visited?

If you haven’t I recommend you take a trip to Corner Bakery for your next meal. In addition, I’ve got a gift card ($$$) giveaway that I am raffling off so that you and a special someone can go and experience their great food and venue.

I look forward to seeing your participation.

For the details on how to participate message me on my Facebook page.

Here’s a plyometric exercise you can do from a sidewalk!!! Stop giving yourself excuses about not having the proper equipment just look at your surroundings and get creative. Begin by standing in front of the sidewalk with both feet on the ground. Rapidly alternate tapping the top of the sidewalk with each foot, springing off the ground with each step. Move your arms in the running motion as your feet tap and to add complexity travel from one side to the other. Do 20-40 taps, take a break and then do 50-60 taps, take a break and finish with 70-100 taps.

How many times do we under estimate our own body weight??! There’s an infinite amount of exercises you can do without weights and still get results. Try these #tricepdips for your #triceps from the comfort of your front yard, a park or sidewalk. There’s a lot of variations for these, but the knees-bent dip is the most basic version of this exercise for all my starters. I recommend you do 30, 20 and 10 reps in combination with other outdoor exercises that I’ll be showing all of you throughout my #avivirlafit #videos!

¿Cuántas veces subestimamos nuestro propio peso corporal??!

Here’s something you might love: You don’t have to just “like” Facebook posts anymore.

By popular demand, Facebook is going beyond the ubiquitous thumbs-up button with a new shorthand to express your thoughts and feelings.

635918302799456184-Reactions

Acknowledging that “like” isn’t the right sentiment for every occasion, the giant social network is offering new options. Reactions, five emoting emojis, are rolling out to Facebook’s more than 1.5 billion users around the globe starting Wednesday.

With a click of a button, you can choose from new emotions when commenting on a status update. Hold the “like” button on mobile or hover over the like button on desktop and five animated emoji pop up. Tap on love, haha, wow, sad or angry to express your reaction. Posts in News Feed will now show a tally of the reactions — how many loves, how many wows — a post gets.

Make no mistake: Reactions are not designed to capture the full range of human emotions. No meh or trash, Facebook wants to give people a fast and simple way to express thoughts or feelings in a positive, supportive way, not to troll friends.

Engagement runs high on Facebook and Facebook wants to keep it that way. Nearly 1.6 billion people visited the social network at least once a month in the fourth quarter, up from 1.55 billion people in the third quarter, and 1.04 billion visit Facebook every day.

Facebook says it conducted research for more than a year, tapping focus groups and surveys and poring over short one- to three-word comments, emoji or in virtual stickers to determine the emotions people most commonly want to express.

The winners were the five emoji that translated to cultures around the globe. One emoji, yay, was rejected for not being universal enough.

lead_960

“We have been very intentional about really understanding what people are trying to communicate on Facebook right now and how can we make that easier,” said Tom Alison, engineering director of News Feed.

For years, Facebook resisted giving users an alternative to the “like” button, namely a “dislike” button. But the lobbying only intensified as more people used Facebook on mobile devices and clamored for quicker and easier ways to comment.

Gartner Research analyst Brian Blau says the demand for a “dislike button” reflected frustration with not having more choices beyond like.

“What these emoji do is give greater granularity in expressing what you are thinking and feeling about something that was posted on Facebook,” Blau said.

Will Facebook eventually give users more emotional bandwidth?

“We would consider it if it feels like that’s going to be something that fulfills a need,” Alison said. “We’ve wanted to make sure the product is lightweight, simple and understandable. The more reactions we add, the more complicated it gets.”

Facebook announced in October that it would begin testing Reactions in Ireland and Spain. The test expanded to other countries such as Chile, the Philippines, Portugaland Colombia.

Facebook says it made adjustments to the feature based on feedback and will continue to refine the product as it rolls out more widely.

“This is not the end. Whenever we launch something globally, we learn a lot and we improve the product. We listen to the feedback from everyone using it,” Alison said.

Emoji are increasingly prevalent in digital culture. Already Facebook users around the globe routinely interact via emoji on Facebook and in other social and messaging apps, particularly in Asia where the expressive icons are a core part of the daily experience on Line and WeChat.

The Reactions emoji could benefit Facebook, giving the data-driven company even greater insight into what interests users, which in turn could help inform what status updates and advertisements they see. Eventually content producers and publishers will get more granular detail on how people are responding emotionally to posts.
