Sup! My name is Gustavo Gutierrez Magallanes (Yes, I am Latino so I proudly use my mother’s maiden name- LOL).

I am a Bi-lingual / Multi-Media Journalist.

In December of 2012, I received my Master of Arts degree in Broadcast Journalism from the University of Southern California (USC), Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism, #FightOn. Throughout my time at USC, I became a professional in all things related to the evolving media industry. Before that I earned my Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Studies from Santa Clara University in 2009.

What makes me a Journalist?

Throughout my studies, I have gained thorough professional experience working in print, radio, digital, and television news. Working for both, English and Spanish media outlets I’ve worked as on air talent, producer and as well as behind the scenes. One of the projects that I am most proud of is a televised 30-minute documentary that I produced and hosted on Health: Rare Diseases in 2012.

With over 7 years professional journalism experience I have a gained valuable background in the media industry from covering the 2008 Presidential election in Washington, D.C. to writing for outlets such as Telemundo, Univision and MundoFox and an international lifestyle magazine called Padrisimo Magazine.

Why am I a blogger?

I consider myself a lifestyle (avivirla) blogger. I love horses!!! Soy Latino (Mexican-American), I’m a lover of life and I am big on health, fitness, family, food, technology, travel and cars.

I am energetically working towards becoming a motivational icon to others while achieving my purpose.
